The Burger Bistro wanted to introduce a unique design element to make their premises stand out. Situated close to the CBD and in an area frequently travelled by cyclists, .reSPOKE utilized bicycle components to create an urban feel to the burger joint that connected it to the street outside.
Hubs, cogs and spokes were upcycled and paired with modern bulbs to create one-of-a-kind fixtures. This project demonstrated that desirable contemporary design can make use of old and unwanted materials. Such a reuse does not have to compromise the design or function, and instead should build on the strengths and existing features of a place.
With a considered design, attention to detail when fabricating and care during installation the end result is an enduring and distinctive statement.
