NEERIGEN BROOK PRIMARY SCHOOL

Trees are symbolic of wisdom and nurturing, fitting themes for a primary school. The Word Sleuth Tree is of galvanised steel with an expected lifespan of 25 years in outdoor conditions. Beyond the symbolism, the sculpture’s leaves form a word sleuth. Children can test themselves and each other, trying to find words of increasing difficulty in the silhouettes picked out against the sky. Aesthetically, the tree adds a vertical element to an otherwise open space, creating a sense of comfort through dimensionality and scale.
