CHISHOLM COLLEGE CUSTOM BENCHES

Chisholm Catholic College commissioned seating for a ‘reflection space’, where students can come to sit, think and chat, while reestablishing links with Aboriginal people, land and culture. Made of upcycled jarrah, the boomerang-shaped seating represents an iconic tool and symbol of Aboriginal Australia. The design also encourages people to sit facing one another. Seen from above, the curves and circle are reminiscent of the Noongar art symbol for ‘people sitting together’.
