KALEIDOSCOPIC ARBOR FOR CURTIN UNIVERSITY

Curtin University commissioned Respoke to develop some fun and eye-catching pieces of sculptural furniture. The Arbor is a series of four connected arches that reinterpret the lines of gothic cathedrals. This inspiration is continued with a stained glass effect, achieved with pieces of coloured perspex. The freestanding unit can be dismantled and moved as needed, but it currently shelters a shady place to sit and enjoy the passage of the sun.

The use of coloured shade adds dynamism to an otherwise stationary piece. The scale of the shade structure is eye catching and makes it compatible with other pieces, such as Curtin’s own furniture.
