INGLEHOOD PARKLET FOR CITY OF STIRLING

Drawing inspiration from surrounding pieces of urban art, the arrival of Hoodburger and the comfortable and familiar notions associated with a local neighbourhood, this parklet was named Inglehood. The design was inspired by the art-deco features of nearby buildings, including a stepped roof-line and gentle arcs. The colour palette was inspired by local businesses such as Yelo cafe and Hoodburger. The clientele of these venues also influenced the design. Retro-styled seating and bench tops make for an informal al-fresco area and the semi-circular bench around the planter is at a height that makes it usable by people in wheelchairs.
